Newsie #1 : 4 January 1999
SURPRISE! SURPRISE!
I'm still not doing my "plans" for this year---the Individual Commitment Plan---it's a way of grading yours truly with the things I have accomplished based on that plan. And if I get it all done, I might get a 100% rating which is equivalent to an "average rating"...all in the name of excellence. That's why I am still blocked... procrastinating, that is.
And everytime I am blocked, I write---to release the tension. Now, I even forgot what I was supposed to be writing. Oh well...
So, what's NEWSIE all about? It's a shortcut for NEWS ABOUT LOUIE. (I was thinking of Vanity because honestly I am so vain to come up with an idea about having news about ME!!! But there's already such a magazine so just forget it.)
After all my chitchats and tienes-tienes introduction...let's go to my story.
Christmas was fun and the people in PBSP were so darn nice since almost everybody gave me something for Christmas. I even won a lot of prizes from dozens of Christmas parties---dito lang sa opisina. Paano ba naman, may Christmas party with the entire PBSP, there's the Christmas party with the Executive Director, a Christmas party for MCIU (my unit) and IDCU...grabe, ang dami ano?
We have this "Wish List" here on the White Board downstairs (IDCU). All I really wanted was:
- A good Art book, preferrably about pastels, and;
- Membership with PowerDance
Since it was too darn expensive to give those things as a gift, I never expected anything. One of my officemates asked me to put more so they can have more ideas on what they can give me. I added a mug, tubao, and a malong (bawal nga pala mag-wish ng boyfriend or I would've added Ricky Martin, who was in Manila first week of December). Eventually, I erased it all five days later and I just put there...something creative.
I now have an art book and I am happy. The PowerDance, I don't know when but it will come (Rallon Alonzo's actually taking classes there so that's another plus to my determination to going into the course).
The result of the "something creative" wish...
- I have this book of postcards with marbleized designs, given to me by my boss.
- There's the book, The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran.
- An aromatherapy book with good art in it.
- A cappuccino cup na ala-Friends ang laki at Sesame Street ang design.
- I already bought a Glemas ware fruit juice cup but another friend gave me the same color pero espresso cup naman with matching coaster.
- Coffee which you need to brew (dahil hindi instant).
Sangkaterbang coffee cups---hindi ako marunong mag-cappuccino o espresso---at least, I have the entire 1999 to learn. Luckily, may percolator ang aking lolo (died in 1995)---he bought it from a garage sale sa States---which my tita gave to me.
Last night, I brewed my Christmas coffee. First try, sabi ng kapatid ko, "Lasang tsaa,"...sobrang labnaw. The next try, I added two more tablespoons and it tasted a little okay...3:00 na ako ng umaga nakatulog. Pero hindi pa rin malasahan iyon flavor ng coffee. This morning, I added two more tablespoons...for a grand total of seven tablespoons!!!(Serves three mugs in one boiling.)
This morning, while I was riding the jeep on the way to Intramuros somewhere near Central Market, there was this man na gusgusin na alam mong psychologically-disturbed...NAKED...from head to foot! (In my mind: January na ba ang Oblation Run ngayon?)
Not my normal morning but tolerable.
Pagbaba ko ng Lawton at pagkatawid papunta ng Letran... there's this decent-looking man facing the grills of the golf course in Intramuros. From the other side of the street I thought he was urinating. When I finally got on the sidewalk he was standing on---he was actually masturbating!!! Naked men are popping up everywhere... blame it on the coffee.
I think I finally got the brew right!
Did you know that recent findings shows that coffee causes breast cancer?
"Kape"-pisil at "kape"-pindot!!!
